Thursday 16th January 2025, 8pm


  1. Welcome

    1. The Meeting began with a welcome from the two co-chairs, Richard Myers (RM) and Jarlath Pratt (JP). 

 

  1. Approval of minutes from the last meeting

    1. RM noted that the minutes from last meeting had been made available to everyone on the BHSA website.

    2. The minutes of the previous meeting were duly approved.


  1. Review of activities last term

    1. JP ran through a review of the events that had taken part so far this academic year: 

      1. Fireworks night

      2. Christmas Trees 

      3. Christmas Wreath Decorating

      4. Christmas Fete (with special thanks to Nicola Henderson (NH) who ran this event)

 

  1. Discussion of upcoming activities

    1. RM highlighted the events that were still to take place this academic year:

      1. Friday 7 February – BHSA Quiz Night

      2. Friday 28 March – Mother’s Day Gifting

      3. Friday 13 June – Father’s Day Gifting

      4. Sunday 18 May – Summer Fete

      5. Saturday 14 June – Juniors Mini Festival & Camp Night 

      6. Saturday 5 July – Summer Party


  1. Encouragement of other future events

    1. JP noted that:

      1. The BHSA is always in need of volunteers; and 

      2. The school is open to considering new events / activities not in the calendar. The Christmas Fete had not been in the calendar but a parent (NH) with an interest in running the event approached the BHSA/school and space was found in the calendar to hold the event. 

 

  1. Financial update

    1. Jitka Edrova ran through a review of the BHSA’s finances (presentation attached to these minutes).

    2. Please find the Treasury report below:



 

  1. Update re bids for use of BHSA funds

    1. RM noted that the bids from teachers for use of BHSA funds would soon be available on the BSHA website.

  1. Class Rep update and highlight of BHSA onboarding activities 

    1. Asha Ngai gave an update on class rep activities and the processes that had been put in place by the BHSA to onboard new parents.

 

  1. Coffee shop

    1. JP highlighted the activities of the coffee shop and its need for further volunteers.


  2. Pre-loved uniform shop

    1. RM discussed the pre-loved uniform shop, its success and the large volume of sales and donations.


  3. Close

    1. There being no other business the meeting was closed.
